What is your favorite type of rock?

Thats tough for me because the music I listen to is always based on my mood. I really don't have a particular style that I like above the rest. However, on the other hand, I dislike screaming. I can handle some in a song, but not the whole song.

same with the mood thing nater. Could be Damage Plan one hour and Van Morrison the next. I've played John Denver back to back with Pantera, just cause it was the mood I was in on my station..

If I had to choose one genre it would be metal tho.. not death metal etc.. just metal

I love classic rock, since I grew up with it and I know the words. But from some of the stuff that my kids listen to now, (which is all they allow me to listen to) I like Queens Of the StoneAge and White Stripes.

I do enjoy classic rock a lot more than most, you just can't beat the guitar solos.

I like so many kids of rock but, I my favorites tend to be older rock such as Aerosmith, Queen and Guns and Roses.

I like lots of different kinds of "rock". There are two major categories of rock I don't like:

1) Those that are just poppy songs with simple chord progressions that probably took a total of 2 minutes to write (yet they somehow are made into 4 minute songs???).

2) Those that are overly heavy, with incessant sreaming and grunting and yelling about God knows what. Especially those with a lot of what I call "musical masturbation", particularly in guitar solos. I can't stand "shredding" just for the sake of "shredding".

Some of my favorite rock bands would be Tool, Muse, RHCP, Alter Bridge, classic rock like Zeppelin and The Doors, Pink Floyd, A Perfect Circle, Chevelle, and last but not least: a lot of the big 90s bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Weezer and Bush.

Damn. I really had to cut that list short. I realized it was gonna end up taking me all night to type.

Hmm. It's hard for me to say. I like music that is good. I can say that lately I have been into the more theatrical stuff, like Iron Maiden and MCR.

I tend to be more of a mood person, as someone else here said. But I really like heavy metal, gothic metal, and anything that can "stir my soul." I enjoy lots of different rock bands but those are more my "type."
