How 'bout a Jazz forum?
I know I just got here, but I noticed that there was no Jazz forum. I'm sure that it wouldn't be the most popular forum, but it would get enough traffic to justify its existence.

Re: How 'bout a Jazz forum?
I think at some point in the future there'll be a Blues/Soul/Jazz forum. But obviously there's no traffic at the moment to justify it. I reckon the way to go would be to get so much discussion about those sorts of genres on this board, then once the traffic gets big enough it'd be expanded into it's own board.

Not trying to be mean or anything but I guess this should've been posted in the feedback board.
 Sorry.

I gotcha. Thanks for the quick reply.
That said, even if/when the traffic increases, I'd hate to see jazz lumped in with blues or soul or R&B. R&B and Soul should be one forum, really, and I don't care what you choose to do about blues- it's completely uninteresting IMO.

BLASPHEMY!
As I said it'd depend on how much discussion there was about different genres. If there was enough to justify it's own board then it'd probably happen. But there'd have to be a fair bit of discussion going on to justify that.

Re: How 'bout a Jazz forum?
Blues and Jazz should be lumped together because of their large growth together in America and impact on modern music, however, neither has really evolved to any degree in recent decades. Lack of discussion as well as having similar roles in the history of music = 1 forum together IMHO.
RnB/Soul/Funk together in another forum or in Other Genres.

Nah, it's gospel. It's lowbrow, repetitive and just plain lacking.
I'd put blues with Country, if anything. Never with jazz, as it would feel inferior standing there.

Agreed.
Hey, am I the only non-Aussie posting here?

Yeah, I tend to keep the same screen name wherever I can. It's just too much work to think of a new one.

Re: How 'bout a Jazz forum?
Well, there was a Jazz forum here for a day or two, and now it's gone. Do we really have enough members to expect posts within 48 hours of a forum being started?

The fact there was no threads at all suggests the demand isn't there just yet.

Re: How 'bout a Jazz forum?
If no one posts withing 2-3 days of a forum being created, it's not ready for its own forum

If the Jazz forum succeeds I'll legally change my name to Howard Moon.
