How would you rate your local music scene?

I'm working on a resource network for indies and others involved behind the scenes of the music movement and I'm having a hard time getting a collective opinion of people's local scene. We're using a 5 star rating system and just looking for some feedback. Is your area nothing but wedding singers or do you have some cats ready to blow the socks off of the world? We're building a progressive, grassroots oriented family...Please help give us some insight so that we may attempt to benefit your locals in any way possible.
