I just saw this on another thread, and while I do tend to agree that some modern country music is developing a pop flavour, there's also a bunch more that isn't. I guess it all depends on your definition of what purist country is...if you're talking Dueling Banjos and twang, yeah, then it's all pop now. But if you expand your definition a little you'll find roots music out there to this day.

hi, the country music I like to hear is john berry.He has such a fabulous voice, with a lovely range, and sings a wide variety of beautiful songs, many self penned.John has his own record label so doesn't get the air play he deserves.Hope to hear him on hotngold.Belong to fan club, on their forum,have email pals in usa .would like a john berry email pal in uk.

who knows, maybe country music is the next big music era. i mean 80s was rock. 90s had pop music. now we have hip hop. maybe thats next. any thoughts?
